Thrill Collins | Star & Garter | Manchester | 9th April 2022

It's an early April spring evening and the snow is slightly unseasonably starting to flutter down in Manchester city centre. In the city's Star and Garter pub are festival circuit favourite Thrill Collins. A 3 piece skiffle-pop covers band from Gloucestershire. Usually witnessed in the late evening after a baking hot day on a field in the height of the summer.

Thrill Collins are tonight their own support act. Playing through a set of 80s and 90s pop songs and medleys, including a "traditional Irish folk song"... B*Witched's Cest La Vie. before convening to the traditional pub downstairs for a couple of drinks with everyone before a 2nd set filled with more fun, humour, and songs to take everyone back to their teenage years. Featuring a cover of Fall Out Boy's This Ain't a Scene, It's An Arms Race and ending on a hip hop medley.

Back out into the unforgiving cold of a Northern city night it feels a million miles from festival season but when it finally comes around it'll feature more Thrill Collins, keeping everyone entertained into the small hours... and hopefully less snow.
