Static Dress | Deaf Institute | Manchester | 16th April 2022

Static Dress bring their high energy, electric live I Hope You Hate This Tour to Manchester's Deaf institute. Powering through a non stop set of songs from their short but powerful back catalogue, along with a few tracks from their upcoming full length album Rouge Carpet Disaster.

On stage old school TVs are set up showing live footage of the show, and the Deaf Institute's red velvet curtains provide the perfect frame for the theatre unfolding in front of us. The small ballroom sprung floor feels as though standing on a trampoline, such is the energy of the crowd.

A band who are constantly creative in how new music and information is given to their fanbase the drum kit displays a mobile phone number that when dialed plays a clip of new release Fleahouse with an American voice advising the release date and pre order address for the band's upcoming album.

It's clear that every aspect of the band, their image and and their output is incredibly well considered. Nothing feels boring or cliche and the 10 song set only adds to the anticipation of waiting to see what comes next from them.
