James and the Cold Gun | Garage Attic | Glasgow | 5th May 2022

South Wales' James and the Cold Gun were here at Glasgow's Garage venue just a few short weeks ago supporting Creeper. Tonight they return for a headline show in the upstairs Garage Attic room.

Following the Kate Bush song of which they take their name from playing over the sound system the band stride onto the stage and launch into their set.

The crowd tonight is modest in size of around 40 or so fans, but those in attendance are fully engaged and the band and crowd feed of the energy of each other.

Towards the end of the show frontman James Joseph thanks the audience and asks if there's anyone in attendance who had never crowdsurfed. A few, initially reluctant, hands are raised before a couple of fans bound onto the stage and are caught by the waiting crowd. There's a lot of joy in the room tonight and after shows like tonight's along with strong support slots the next time they're in town the crowd will no doubt have grown considerably and be just as involved in the show.
